Sappho’s Garden

Sappho is hosting a garden party, and she invites only her most loyal disciples to join her for an afternoon of song, storytelling, and celebration on the Isle of Lesbos. This show is created to address the need for Sapphic spaces and the issues with anti-femme attitudes in 2SLGBTQIA+ spaces. Designated 2SLGBTQIA+ spaces are frequently dominated by cis gay men, with the “others” continue to face exclusion in spaces that are supposedly meant for them. Sappho’s poetry is integrated into classical and contemporary operatic-style performance in this intimate reflection of the queer community’s softest individuals.

Past reviews: “… a stellar performance… hits a nerve…honest, entertaining…emotionally poignant …full of laughs…charming, witty and accessible…expertly done…astute…warm, funny…graceful and affecting… breathtaking”.
